Shipping Policy

All products are shipped via USPS Priority Mail and include a tracking number and insurance.  Shipping costs are calculated on actual product size and weight. Please see each individual product for the approximate turn-around time for shipping.  You will receive an email when your item ships. 

 

I try to pack each item carefully so that damage does not occur.   In the event that your product is damaged during shipping, I will work with you to help you file the claim with USPS, and get you a replacement product if desired.

 

LOCAL PICKUP at The Cottage Shop is also available.  You will receive an email when your order is ready for pickup.

Return Policy

SALE OF ALL PRODUCTS IS FINAL. Due to the nature of wood products and personalized items, all sales are final.  However, I generally do send a proof of personalized or custom products after it is designed so you can see placement, check spellings of names, etc.  Once you ok the proof, production will begin, at which time, changes can no longer be made. If needed, I also send color or ribbon sample photos.  I want you to love your finished product, and I do my best to make sure I meet your expectations.

HANDCRAFTED: No two handcrafted items are exactly alike.  Variations in wood, paint, stain, ribbon, beads, florals, etc are inherent in a handcrafted item....thus making every piece unique and special.

WOOD PRODUCTS: Each piece we make is an imperfectly perfect piece of art hand-crafted just for you. Please love every knot, crack, or discoloration you may find.

At The Cottage Shop, we pride ourselves on quality hand-crafted wood products.  Please understand wood is a natural resource; therefore our signs and other wood products may vary in color, texture, and grain.  Wood characteristics that naturally occur are variations in color, grain, mineral streaks, pinholes, and knots. These are not considered defects.  These variations are a natural occurrence due to species, growth region, age, etc. They only increase the uniqueness of each piece.  Wood by nature will expand and contract as it adjusts to temperature and humidity changes. Cracks may naturally develop with age.

CARE OF WOOD PRODUCTS: Our outdoor signs are sealed for water and UV protection.  Most of our indoor wood products are also given one coat of sealer.  You may gently wipe your wood products with a damp cloth, but please don't scrub.
